Our first stop is at the pretty town of Northallerton on market day. Wander around High Street, unspoilt by modern times, with an abundance of specialist shops, cafes and tearooms offering good old fashioned customer service. This afternoon we enjoy some free time at Thirsk, the town famous for its Herriot connections.
