Beginning our day at the seaside town of New Brighton with its level promenade, Fort Perch Rock and spectacular views across the River Mersey of the Liverpool Waterfront. This afternoon we visit the unique picturesque garden village of Port Sunlight. Built by William Hesketh Lever in 1888 to house the workers of his soap factory, learn about his vision at the Port Sunlight Museum or explore the floral displays in the gardens. The Lady Lever Art Gallery (offering free entrance) is a beautiful building housing one of the UK’s finest collections of fine and decorative art and is well worth a visit.
