Our first stop is at the pretty town of Northallerton on market day. Wander around High Street, unspoilt by modern times. We travel to our lunch venue The Cat & Bagpipes, a family run village pub where we enjoy a delicious home-cooked carvery meal. Help yourself to a choice of beef, pork or turkey with a Yorkshire pudding, mashed & roast potatoes & a good selection of fresh vegetables. Drinks and desserts can be purchased on the day. Later this afternoon we enjoy some free time at Thirsk, the town famous for its Herriot connections. Price includes a carvery meal as above.
