A day out in Lancashire beginning at the award-winning Oswaldtwistle Mills Shopping Village & Garden Centre, an Aladdin’s Cave of bargains with a choice of places to eat. This afternoon we step back in time to a bygone era on board the East Lancashire Railway to ride in a vintage carriage behind a beautifully restored steam locomotive. Our twelve-mile journey takes us through the scenic Irwell Valley from Rawtenstall, past rolling hills and quaint villages travelling the full length of the line to Heywood.
